In addition to installation, Softaculous has all the tools needed to manage updates, backups, security, and cloning<\/strong> of applications. This ensures that websites remain stable, secure, and easy to manage. All applications are managed from a single location<\/strong>, making site administration more organized and easier to manage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accessing Softaculous in cPanel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To start using the Softaculous installer, you must access it from your cPanel account<\/strong>. To open the Softaculous dashboard, follow the steps given below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Log into your cPanel account<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Go down to the Software<\/strong> section.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

                • Disable Update Notification Emails<\/strong>: Select this option to stop emails from being sent to you every time an update is available for the installation.\"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                • Auto Upgrade: <\/strong>Select how the application is to be upgraded:\n

                  • Do Not Auto Upgrade:<\/strong> No auto update; rather, you\u2019ll perform an update yourself.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                  • Upgrade to any latest version available:<\/strong> Softaculous will automatically update the application to the latest version<\/strong>, including major and minor releases<\/strong>.\"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                  • Backup Location:<\/strong> Select locations for backup storage (Default or local<\/strong>).
                    \"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                  • Automated Backups:<\/strong> Choose whether to make backups automatically:\n

                    • Don\u2019t Backup:<\/strong> No automatic backups will be created.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                    • Once a Month:<\/strong> There would be an automatic backup done every month.
                      \"\"<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                    • Backup Rotation:<\/strong> The latest backup is automatically maintained by Softaculous, so your site will have a current copy<\/strong>. The old backups will be overwritten<\/strong> by newer backups.\"\"<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                    • Input your email address<\/strong> in the Email installation details<\/strong> box in order to get admin details and installation confirmation<\/strong>.\"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                    • Click the Install button<\/strong> and wait for the installation to finish.

                    • After the installation process is completed, you are able to visit your website<\/strong> using the URL provided<\/strong>.\"\"<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                      Installed Applications Management<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

                      With Softaculous, you can access all the applications that you have installed from a centralized interface. This will allow you to use the application<\/strong>, create a backup<\/strong>, use the staging application<\/strong>, edit the settings<\/strong>, or delete the application<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                          Login to Admin Panel<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
                            \n
                          • Click Admin icon<\/strong> next to your application.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                          • You will immediately be logged into the admin panel<\/strong> without needing to input your credentials.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                          • From here, you can control website content<\/strong> and other settings<\/strong>.\"\"<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                            Staging<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

                            Staging<\/strong> makes it possible for you to make a copy of the live site<\/strong> where you can test designs before applying them to the live site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                              \n
                            • Click the Staging icon<\/strong> alongside the application.
                              \"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                            • Specify the protocol<\/strong> needed at the staging environment (http:\/\/, http:\/\/www., https:\/\/, or https:\/\/www.<\/strong>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                            • Choose a domain or subdirectory<\/strong> where your staging site will be created.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                            • The database name<\/strong> shall be automatically generated. You may modify it if necessary.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                            • Click the Create Staging button<\/strong>.
                              Softaculous will replicate your live site to your staging site so you can test changes without damaging your live site.\"\"<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                              Backup<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

                              Making backups<\/strong> means your website and database will be secure<\/strong> if a problem arises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                              • Click on the Backup icon<\/strong> next to the application.

                              • Select backup options<\/strong>:\n
                                  \n
                                • Backup Location:<\/strong> Choose the storage location (Default or Local<\/strong>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                                • Backup Directory:<\/strong> This option will create a backup of the whole website folder<\/strong> when checked.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                                • Backup Database:<\/strong> This option, if checked, will ensure the database<\/strong> used by the application is backed up.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                                • Backup Note:<\/strong> You can optionally provide a description<\/strong> of the backup.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                                • Click on Backup Installation<\/strong> to create the backup.\"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                                • The system will create the backup<\/strong>, which can be restored<\/strong> whenever required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

                                  Clone<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

                                  This helps you to create a copy of the website<\/strong> at a completely different location for testing and\/or staging<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                  • Click on the Clone icon<\/strong> alongside the application.

                                  • Select the protocol<\/strong> of the cloned website (http:\/\/, http:\/\/www., https:\/\/, https:\/\/www.<\/strong>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                                  • Choose the domain or subdirectory<\/strong> where the clone will be created.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                                  • The name of the database<\/strong> is generated automatically. However, this name can be customized<\/strong> whenever necessary.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                                  • Click Clone Installation<\/strong>. It will copy your website and its database to the desired location.\"\"<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                                    Edit Settings<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

                                    This option is used to update key information<\/strong> of the application installation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                      \n
                                    • Click the Edit Settings icon<\/strong> next to the application.\"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                                    • Now make the necessary changes in the installation settings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

                                      Remove\/Delete<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

                                      Uninstall or remove applications you do not need anymore<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                        • Remove Database User:<\/strong> This removes the database user for this application.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                                        • Click Remove Installation<\/strong> and proceed with its deletion.\"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                                        • The components you chose will be permanently deleted, which will reduce the space used on your web-hosting account.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                                          Updating Applications Safely<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

                                                • Backup Database:<\/strong> Select this option if you want to back up the application database.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                                                • Click on the Upgrade<\/strong> icon to apply the updated version. Softaculous will automatically upgrade the required files and database.\"\"<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
